EN 360 — Personal protective equipment against falls from a height: retractable type fall arresters
Covers self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) that lock on a sudden pay-out. They usually need less clearance than a lanyard and absorber, but horizontal and edge use must be approved by the manufacturer.
ANSI Z359.14 — Safety requirements for self-retracting devices for personal fall arrest and rescue systems
US standard for self-retracting lifelines (SRDs), defining arrest distance and edge-use requirements.
Reading the marking: Class 1 = overhead anchorage; Class 2 = foot-level or overhead anchorage with leading-edge capability. SRD-R includes a rescue function.
