Buying guide
Site safety equipment controls everyday hazards that cause many serious incidents: unexpected release of energy, spills, vehicle and pedestrian conflicts, unclear hazard communication and poorly stored chemicals. The equipment only works when it supports written procedures, training and routine inspection.
Lockout/tagout devices must fit every isolation point identified in your energy control procedures. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 is the most widely used model for a lockout programme, with one personal lock per worker.
Spill kits and containment should be sized to the largest container or credible leak, and matched to the liquid: oil-only, universal or chemical absorbents.
Separate pedestrians from vehicles with physical barriers where possible; cones and chain barriers are for temporary or low-risk zones. Mirrors help at blind corners and site exits.
ISO 7010 pictograms are understood across languages. On multinational workforces, add text in the main site languages, for example English and Arabic.
Outdoor plastics, tags and sign faces fade and become brittle under strong UV. Specify UV-stabilised materials and plan for earlier replacement than in temperate climates.
