• EN ISO 11612Protective clothing: clothing to protect against heat and flame

  Covers flame-retardant workwear for industrial workers exposed to brief flame contact and heat, such as in oil and gas, petrochemical and metal industries.

  Reading the marking: A1/A2 limited flame spread; B1-B3 convective heat; C1-C4 radiant heat; D1-D3 molten aluminium splash; E1-E3 molten iron splash; F1-F3 contact heat. Higher numbers mean higher performance.

• EN ISO 11611Protective clothing for use in welding and allied processes

  Covers welding garments for spatter, short flame contact and radiant heat.

  Reading the marking: Class 1 for lower-spatter work (e.g. TIG, light MIG); Class 2 for heavier spatter (MMA, gouging, cutting). A1/A2 flame spread test method.

• IEC 61482-2Live working: protective clothing against the thermal hazards of an electric arc

  Covers arc-flash clothing. Performance is tested either by the open-arc method (giving a cal/cm² rating) or the box test (giving a class).

  Reading the marking: ATPV or EBT in cal/cm² (open arc, IEC 61482-1-1); APC 1 (4 kA) or APC 2 (7 kA) (box test, IEC 61482-1-2).
